A second function of families is to have the same partner for sexual activity. People like to have a go-to person for their romantic pleasures.

Shit My Students Write: The ol’ standby

 At many of these posts, I grown, moan, and grin at the silliness of people today.  Many of the sentences and statements presented entail some sort of grammatical ambiguity which, to a more careful reader, can be greatly ironic or at least basically humorous.  Rarely do the sentences, paragraphs or what have you engender a barren world such as this one which I am now sharing.  How, how, how, can one so baldly invert the world?  I would so like to see the first function; maybe this writer isn’t in such bad state-of-soul as I now picture him to be.  For now, I will simply list the problems:  assumption of sexual activity as substantive to a vision of basic humanity; multiple, circulating sexual partners; lack of intention in living out desire; an impoverished view of romance.  This last is the most crushing, for all the lusciousness of the palm tree has been pressed out, and all that remains is human fat-water (cf. Song of Songs)
